Hi,
I have a frigidaire electric oven that has got a prob.
The element burned out this time last year... the metal connector actually burned off of it.I replaced the element and all was well until thanksgiving 07 at which time the wire on the same side burned off about an inch away from the connection. about a month ago ditto and yesterday again. I have stripped and recconected the wire so many times I am now running out of wire if it does it again. On a side note the last time this happened the breaker tripped. I am thinking bake element controller...Good bet?
Thanks in advance for any replies, Charlie

It is possible that when you are cutting back and re-stripping the wire you are not going far enough beyond the overheated section.
You would do well to replace the wire right back to the oven control and make sure the connections are tight.
Also are you using crimp connectors that are not rated for high temperatures?

On dryers I work on the reason that wires burn are loose connections. be sure to clean connections of all burnt insulation and past the burnt part. The wire will get hard a brittle where it got hot . GregH has it right may need to change wire
