We just had the new Lennox 20 SEER AC installed. They used a graphic display "Elite" series thermostat. The Lennox literature seems to refer to a SignitureStat thermostat. I think they put in a cheep alternate. The literature calls for a two stage cooling stat but this cheep one does not seem to be doing the two stage control. Does anyone know which thermostat needs to be used with this super high efficiency unit?
Thanks

That's ok, I found it anyway.

Thermostat Elite Series is really a honeywell visionpro 8000. It's 3 heat / 2 cool and is perfectly capable of operating the system and providind outdoor temperature.

SignitureStat is top of the line Dave Lennox stat. You are correct it is the only stat listed as accessory for the XC21. This dude has the ability to control indoor dewpoint with respect to outdoor temp. It has Dehumidification and Humidification outputs and comes with a wireless outdoor temp sensor.

The airhandler also lists SignitureStat or just a thermostat.

I think the stat you have will work fine. However, I would ask the installer why the only stat listed for the XC21 was not installed. Curious to hear that myself.

Other than your little thermostat hiccup, I'm curious how this system is working for you, cooling wise and energy wise. Looks like a beautiful top of the line setup.

It is a real nice setup. It is super quiet and appears to be real efficient. I'll let you know in a month after the electric bill. The old units were 10 seer. I think that the 7000 series stat will do all the correct things. It is a complicated system but it is quite advanced, IMO.

It does look quite advanced to me, I'm sure the electrical will look good with nearly double the SEER. I think our old unit is probably hovering around the 10 SEER mark.
