I am installing new kitchen cabinets....because of cost I decided to go with RTA, unfinished, stain-grade red oak. I want to paint them an Ivory color and rub a copper/brown over them.
1. Should I use latex or enamel? Has latex improved to the point I won't regret not having the "durability" of enamel?
2. Should I prime & paint inside cabinets? Drawers?

In the "sticky" post on Perfect Cabinet Finish it talks about quality waterborne enamel. Could someone elaborate on this product, please.

Waterborne enamel is a realitively new product. It cleans up with water but dries hard [levels out good too] like oil base. It dries fast too and it also won't yellow over time like the oil base enamels will.
I use to rarely use any enamel other than oil base on woodwork because of it's superior wear and look. Now I rarely use oil base on interior trim and use waterborne enamel instead.
