I have a twin bed that was given to me as a birthday gift when I was 8 yrs. old. It is stark white with a rose trim. My husband and I finally have a guest room where we can have friends and family stay with us. However, the bed is so childish I am almost embarrased to let anyone stay. It is hard to explain what the finish is; it is metal with some kind of laminate (maybe) finish. I want to spray paint it another color, something that will match the new paint we will be using for the walls. I have a black filing cabinet (small) that I would like to do the same thing to and maybe even a stencil design.

Any tips, or better yet; WHERE DO I START AND HOW DO I DO THIS??
