I need help in making a good decision. Our home was built 2 years ago and we installed ceramic tile in our kitchen and laundry room which is separated by a small carpeted hallway (@ 4' x 10'). Now we would like to take up the carpet and continue the tile in the hallway. The only BIG problem is that the ceramic tile we buy today does not match good enough with the existing tile to enable us to use the same tile already installed. We have several options - use the same ceramic tile that we initially installed even though we don't think it is a good match (color or pattern); use an entirely different ceramic tile; or install laminate or hardwood. Whatever we decide to do, the new flooring will be adjacent to carpeting as well as the existing tile. Any ideas??

I personally would go with a wood or laminate. Two different style tiles do not look right.

Would your budget permit removing that other tile and starting over completely?
