I am looking for an alternative to having my swamp cooling in the window, as this is very ugly. I've thought about the roof, but I have an old house with all vaulted ceilings and not much between the roof and the ceiling.
Can an evaporative cooler be placed at ground level and ducted through the same ductwork as my central heat?

First with the amount of moisture that is in the air with a swamp cooler you would need for the duct to be aluminum or stainless because galvanized will rust so bad. 2nd you would need to make sure duct is sized for cooling. My bet is that it is not.
