I was wondering where i can get a set of simple cabinets, for under the countertop for cheap. I am not looking for anything but two large cupboards, and one set of drawers. I am looking to replace the old crappy made cupboards when i replace the countertop. Any suggestions? How hard is it to make a decent set of cabinets, with a intermediate/novice skill level of carpentry?

I built the cabinets in our kitchen, mainly because I didn't like the quality of the cabinets I could afford. It isn't all that difficult. The cabinet frame is basically a box. The doors are the most difficult part. I made the door frames out of 1x's; biscuits at the 45`s and a rabbit on the inside to accept the plywood insert. Using a router on the edges of the 1x's dresss them up a little.
You might check at a builder's type closeout store for deals on cabinets.

Build the face frame to fit the width of your space.
Build the bottom, sides and partitions. Do not install the back now.
Mount the drawer glides.
Build the drawers to fit and install the drawers.
After you are satisfied with the drawer fit, install the back.
Build the doors to fit the openings, allowing for the correct overlay. Install the doors.
Install cabinets.
Install counter top.
Admire your work and plan your next project.

We've actually got a yard sale going on our site; not everything is up yet but it's getting there. People get cheaper cabinets, and we get rid of stuff that's been sitting around, so everyone has been happy so far.
I don't know who else is doing this or I'd post some links.
