i have a dsc 864,i bought a 4 wire fsa-410 smoke and a rm-2....is the polarity reversal module have to be installed for this to work...wished i would have stayed with a 2-wire ............ so i'm hoping i don't have to buy another module

If you want the built in horns on all of the smokes to sound on interconnect, then yes, you need the module. If you just want the specific smoke that's in alarm to sound (and the main alarm siren, of course), then you can wire them without it.
