Kind of in a pickle.

The building where I am at has 4 fire zones in it. Four lines coming in with apparently some 2 wire smoke and heat detectors plus fire pulls on each line.

I had to remove an existing box because of the age. Looking at the Vista-100 manual, it only appears that it takes 2 fire zones with 2 wire detectors with 16 detectors each zone. I probably do not more than that (32) in the building. They are just divided up into four different wires.

I am not planning to use the box for burglary right now. Only fire. Am I right assuming that I can not wire the 2 other smoke detector wires into other zones on the Vista-100? If not, I may have to rewire to make two large fire zones (a pain).

Thanks
GRX

Sadly, that will not work with 2 wire smokes, without replacing the detectors with polling loop (addressable smokes).

What you _can_ do is use a 2-wire to 4-wire conversion module.

Putting a sim module on each smoke with allow for a vplex data loop as pro1tech advised. You will need 1 sim module for each smoke.

Ummm, fellas, the 4139sn _cannot_ suppply power to a _two-wire_ smoke. It is for monitoring a dry contact device.

Yes, you could use it to monitor a _4-wire_ smoke, but you would still have to supply power to the smokes.

Sorry, but it _cannot_ work for 2-wire smokes.
