Hi, I just received my Simon XT and i was trying to get the system to learn a door/window sensor...
the learning part went fine, but i was testing the system and i was tripping the alarm even when the system was disarmed...
so reading through the manual i learned that there is something called "arming levels" of which there are 5.
Basically my sensor was associated with a 24hr zone/group (level 1) which is set to sound an alarm even if the system is disarmed (used for gun cases etc). so to disarm this part of the system, you have to SUBDISARM after you do a regular disarm...
long story short, does anyone know how i can associate my door/window sensor with a "regular" group and not the 24hr group?
the manual is not clear about that.
thanks

What are you trying to protect? Are you putting the sensor on a door? Window? Gun cabinet?

When do you want the sensor to be active?

Answer to your question depends on the above...

Answer to your question depends on the above...

1. all the sensors i want to put up for right now are door/window sensors

2. want it to be active only when i arm the system (not 24hr)

i think i may have found my answer though. I may have by accident assigned the sensor i was testing to the Group 1, which now i have found out is the 24hr group.

Sounds like you want group 10 for your doors and group 13 if you have anything on your windows.
