Just wondering how to do a knock down textured ceiling. i have scrapped the the old popcorn stuff off and now ready to do the spantext. just wondering on the technique??? any help would be good. thanks

The best way to apply a knockdown finish is to use a hopper gun and spray on a splatter coat of thinned down joint compound, let it set a little and then take a wide knife and "knock down" the splatters.
The thicker the j/c, the heavier the texture - thinner = lighter texture.

And to add a bit... do a test spot first or practice on a piece of big cardboard until you get the technique down or the way you like it.

make sure to get all the dust off the ceiling before you texture. it will peel right off when you paint.
