Recently, the floors in our school were stripped and rewaxed. In the process of finishing the floors, the machine splattered wax all over the wood shelves that have a polyurethane finish. How can they be cleaned without damaging them further?

WD40 will clean the wax without damaging the polyurethane.

call the contractor back!...they have to be held responsible for stuff like this...
sadly enough a splash ring around the machine would of prevented this...cost of a simple splash right....$10 bucks
wd-40 may or may not remove it...you may need a more aggressive solvent which may damage the finish
