As a relatively new male-widow, the time has come for the inevitable notwithstanding the use of the sewing machine, that I hang new curtains my late wife purchased,. On the top of the curtain about 3 inches down, there are small 3/16" slots two inches apart, which I assume are for the curtain hooks. Is there an easy way to stretch these slots out. Is there a specific tool, as the loop on the end of the curtain hooks will not fit in the slot.

I'm trying to picture these "slots". Are they holes or channels? Is there one "slot" every couple inches or a set of 3 slots (3 channels with openings at the bottom) every 2". If you could describe better or post a pic, I can help better.

try squeezing your existing hooks with some pliers if they seem that they have any give.. If not you may want to turn to drapery pins like a professional would use.. They are much less bulky..
As for the specialty tool, scissors...
Im guessing this is not a functioning drape but more of a decorative treatment.. Am I correct?
