We have problems with the plaster walls behind the laundry sink in the laundry room (mouldy and crumbling in about a 3 foot area and behind the dryer - outdoor tap is dripping in that area when we turn it on.

so question is - how to repair? I know I need to remove a large area of plaster. Is it best to use thin drywall and cut to fit first and then fill in with plaster to level? suggestions please and thanks. :wall:

I would remove the entire wall that is bad and start new with new drywall. This fix will be easier and take less time then trying to patch.

I would add that you want to shim the drywall so it's level [or almost] with the finished plaster.
