I have built a bathroom in my basement. I installed my own toilet drain. the floor was slanted away from the toilet drain and I have 3/4 inch gap under the front of the toilet to bring it up to level.
I have already tiled the floor and have bathroom finished.
I know there are toilet shims but this seems like too much a gap to make up. I do not want to tear up the tile floor I just laid.
What can I do to bring this up to level and make it look descent. I know if the toilet is not solid it may crack and it will not work correctly if it is not level. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Hello and welcome to DIY

Is the toilet tank hitting the back wall?
What is the measurement from the sheetrock to the center of the flange?
Is the toilet set correctly?

If all these things are OK, the only thing i can think of would be to shim and caulk the toilet or shim and grout the toilet.

The measurement from sheet rock to center of flange is 12"
When the toilet is just sitting on the flange and flat on the tile floor I have 1 1/4" from back of tank to sheet rock.
When I lift the fron of the toilet up to make it level I am up against the sheet rock and the toilet is perfectly level but under the front of the toilet I have a 3/4 inch gap.

If I shim around the front and side of the toilet and then grout will this be sturdy and not leak.

Also out from the sheet rock at the back of the toilet the floor is level for 14 1/2" then the floor slopes down so it seems the toilet is sitting on the flange OK.

Sorry I can't post digital photos no camera.

Thanks

What is the height of the flange? Flush with the floor, Above the floor?

As far as leaking is concerned, as long as you have a proper seal, you should not have leaks.
I would try to find a happy medium for the toilet and shim as much as possible beore completely tightening the toilet bolts. Then trim your shims as needed and caulk or grout as needed.

This is a similar problem I had.. but my issue was only about 1/4 inch .. The toilet must be flat and not rock.. you must shim it with plastic shims or something that wont squeeze down or rot or change in height after installation. If it rocks after install seal and you tighten the bolts it will leak eventually. Chaulk is not a shim and will squeeze down and out.

That is correct idmason60, That is why I said shim, first then caulk or grout.
