A repair person came by yesterday to see why the brine tank was not filling with enough water. He asked if the float was lifting by the water and I told him no. When he showed up, he said that we just need to add more time to the refill process. I then asked him if he noticed the hissing sound. He then reached behind the timer and pulled something and water went everywhere. He told me that water was continually running out through the drain. He told me that he would call Monday with the price to rebuild the what looks to be the control valve assembly.
My question is
- Is this the right problem part
- Can a rebuilt on be purchased
- How hard would it be for me to replace with a rebuilt one
Thanks to all!

The SoftMinder is actually a Fleck valve. If it is brass, it is the 9000 model and plastic, the 9100.
There are parts available.

thanks for the reply....my unit is the MODEL 8500 ECONOMINDER.
Any idea of how hard it would be to replace that section if I got one?
Do you know of a place where I might find instructions on how to replace it?
