Honda HRR216TDA
serial# MZCG7248931
Eng GCV160 5.5hp 4 stroke overhead cam
3 speed self propelled.
2nd gear does not work. 1st is too slow 3rd is too fast. Does anyone know if you can buy the gears and replace or do you have to replace the transmission. I have a 3 year waranty and mower is 2 1/2 years old, wonder if transmission is covered under the waranty.

I looked at your owner's manual here:
http://www.lawnmowersworld.com/honda/hrr216tda.html

Based on your serial number, it's covered by a 2 year warranty. Serial numbers above7700001 are covered for 3 years.

I looked at a parts diagram here:
http://www.superxpower.com/pages/parts/viewbybrand/16/default.aspx

Internal parts for the transmission aren't listed.

I'd check with your dealer on both the warranty coverage and parts availability, though.

When I registered the mower Honda sent a thank you card which also said my warranty was extended to 3 years. I'll check the dealer to see if the transmission is covered. thanks
