My tractor was running fine last week and then when I went to start it the engine would crank but not start. I used a spark tester and witnessed no spark. What next?
Thanks
Thanks

What did it do, shut off and then not start back up?
Unplug the kill wire from the coil and check for spark again. If still no spark, your coil is bad.

It was a week later and I sat down to start it and then no spark. Which wire is the kill wire?

If your engine does not have a S.A.M. module (black box with 7 wires coming from it mounted on the black engine shroud), the kill wire will be a single white wire going under the engine shroud. Don't confuse it with the pair of wires that go to the 3-pronged connector on the regulator/rectifier.

OK. Thanks. I will try that.
