I'm building a large covered-screened in porch. Which would be the better material for no-rot/longivity/durability/etc, air dried cypress or treated southern yellow pine??

Also, if I use cypress: I have access to a moulder, so I could T&G it. Would this be ok, or should I leave gaps in it??

I would treat either species.

Thanks

Or which would be more rot resistant/durable/better weatherable? Cypress?? PT pine?? or eastern cedar??

I have access at a good price to all three species.

Cypress is supposed to be a good long wearing species, too expensive for most to use. PT southern yellow pine is the most affordable. Either one should work well.

I don't remember ever seeing any eastern cedar used for anything other than furniture. Usually when cedar is used on the job, it's western cedar - it has a more defining name but I ferget :o
