:wall: :wall: can anybody help please i was useing a polymer adhesive for sticking a roof spoiler to the top part off my smart cabrio roof the adhesive is like a black silicone but its called a polymer adhesive.

i got a few patches of this on my soft top not sure off its material may be canvas. i have tryed all the fairy liquida etc but because they are water based it will not remove the stains, i have also been told i need a solvent based product but be carefull it doesn,t damaged the roof.

can anybody give me some ideas off stuff over the counter i can use that might breakdown the adhesive from my softop material roof.

any help wood be greatfully recieved.

cheers ROB

i would go to an auto motive store and get a bug and tar remover that is clear coat safe...test it by spraying it on a rag and then dabbing it on your vinyl top and see what it does

i have also had luck with some latex paint removers on car surfaces...just cleaned dried and baked on paint off my work truck that was 3 months old...never hurt the paint

thanks for the info, but do you think the bug remover will work as my car roof is like a black canvas material not vinyl.
look forward to your reply

Check with any Office Supply Store and see if you can find Tape-Away, The bottle says quickly removes adhesive and adhesive residue from virtually any surface. If you can not find it try a internet search for Delecto Corp. they make it. Good luck.
