my husband and I are making a bed for our daughter and the front is shaped like a flowers. we have the petals covered, but we are struggling with how to upholster the center. We have a cirlce with the center cut out. We are wanting to upholster both the front and the back, but we are really needing help on how to do this and the fabric remain smooth. can anyone help with this difficult project.

Thanks.

Hi and welcome to the forum. I'm not an upholsterer, however, it's not possible to take a straight piece of fabric and have it fit smoothly around a circle without pleating, adding darts or gathering it to fit. You will need to cut the fabric to shape in order to staple it on smoothly. Altho I'm not 100% picturing what you're doing, it will probably be easiest to make front and back pieces to shape and join with a boxing strip. Without the boxing strip, it could still be a bit wavy even when cutting it to shape.
