I recently purchased a home with a Kinetco Model 60 which is approx 8 years old and was previously being leased. It will cost $750 to buy the unit outright. My question: is this a good deal or will the money be better spent on a new system? I am first time posting in this forum and would appreciate any input.

Take it. Make a condition that a service rep come out and check it. Unsed Kinetico's go for over $800 on ebay all the time plus shipping.

Depending on the previous user's maintenance, it could last another 20 - 25 years. That is a good deal.
