I have a Kohler tub. There's a switch at the bottom to open or shut the drain but my 2 year-old daughter yanked on it and now it can't stay open (though I can hold it down to let down the water). Any idea what the problem might be? I opened it up and there is this v-shaped spring that looks like it has something to do with this, but I can't figure out what to do.

It sounds like a standard waste and overflow.

You should be able to go to the big box stores and get a replacement cover plate which will include the spring part that is broken. If you can post a picture, it would help.
