I have an idea for an indoor water feature and just want to know if this idea would work. It would be a water feature that has no wall so you would have your base where the water collects and the a pump to pump water up to the top into a hose of pvc pipe with holes all along it so it would be like a rain effect. If anyone has done this or knowledge on how to do this and suggestions would be great.

The water pressure will decrease higher on the device and will probably not even spray out at the top-most holes.

You can overcome the pressure thing pretty easily. The problem with free falling water is that the smaller the droplet the more it will wander (walls, floor, furniture) which is why most fountains have some type of guide to direct the water flow. You can overcome this with a large catch basin or to increase the size of droplets to prevent easy diversion, but I'm not sure if that is the sound you are after.
