This softener was in my house when I bought it. It has an Autotrol 1550C control head on it now. As of late it seems to be regenerating an awful lot. Can I retain the bring tank and the salt tank and just put a new control head on it?

I don't really want to go the big box store route and am trying to stay in a budget.
