Hi,
My request should be very simple. I have pre-wired the family room for the home theatre. However, the front speaker wires are at the one foot from the floor. I would like the speaker at 8 feet high. I would like to pass the speaker wire from the top and connect it to the existing wire at the bottom. Please let me know, what is the easiest way to drop the wire behind the sheetrock and find it at the bottom. Thanks.

Is it an interior or exterior wall?
If interior, and there is no blocking in the way (use a studfinder to check), just drill your hole where you want it, and drop a string with a weight on it. You can put a vacumn to the existing hole and it will suck the string right out, then pull your wire up with the string.
If its an exterior wall, the only way I know is to fish it using a fish tape. That can cause a problem with your insulation and vapor barrier though.
There are flat tape speaker wires which can be attached to the wall and painted/mudded over and are virtually invisible.
