Hello forum members,
I am awaiting the delivery of a Tecumseh # HSK850-8321C(5 h.p) ,and have a few questions regarding this(and other models of the same make/family) engine since it will be used for a gas powered bicycle trailer or scooter project,and
was sold to me without the OEM carb/muffler;What type of fuel pump does this Tecumseh 2 cycle normally have(since it is 2 cycle,maybe it just uses vacuum from the crankcase to fill the carb??), and what steps would be necessary to convert the Tecumseh to use a Walbro WB-34-1, or Tillotson HL-360A(found one of these for a great price online!!) carburetor????

I am also looking for the specifications of a Briggs & Stratton Duraforce(Lawn Boy snow blower OEM engine)6.5 h.p. 2 cycle; I have noticed on all the websites that sell snow thrower parts and/or engines state that the Lawn Boy snow thrower(all models with the B&S 2-cycle) are no longer available!!! :wall:
I would like to know if anyone on this forum may know whether this engine is still available as a replacement part from online/www and/or replacement parts????

All position carburetors are fed with a crankcase pressure pulse diaphragm. That essentially acts as the pump for the carb. It has a check valve that makes it directional - really pretty basic in design. You'll find those on chainsaws, mini tillers, a number of other small two strokes.
Vertical float bowl type carbs can be either gravity fed or with a more conventional pump - either electrical or mechanical.
I'm assuming, by your application, your engine would use the all position carb.
Once you match the flow capacity of the carburetor with the engine requirements, it's just a matter of mounting it and providing the port to drive the pump in it. The rest of it is pretty simple like the throttle hookup.
At that point you'll probably have an engine/carb that runs but will need tuning - possibly rejetting or intake length modifications. If you're wanting a fully maximized configuration, it will take quite a bit of testing and reworking.

However... in searching Sears parts there is an engine that carries the same model number except for the last digit (HSK850-8329) and that engine has the float bowl type of carburetor. The OEM carb on yours may not be an all position carburetor.
