Hello, i'm considering purchasing a 2003 mercury sable sedan, 64,141 miles, 3.0L 6cyl. I'm wondering how reliable these cars are and any other information previous owners or experts know.
Thanks,
Jim

My wife has a 2003 sable that we bought used 4 yrs ago. It has 98,000 miles with the 12 valve 3.0 [cheaper of the two 3.0s]
We had to have the fuel pump and a window motor replaced days after the warranty expired :wall:
The only other work other than regular oil changes [and other maintence] has been brakes and I replaced the starter last summer. The ac compressor has recently started to whine a little but is still working fine.
My wife really likes the car. She gets about 25 mpg, I get 27. Her small foot weighs more than my big foot :D

The high depreciation rate on these vehicles works in your favor as a used car buyer. You can buy a great car with lots of miles left in it for not much money. The Sable/Taurus vehicles are reliable and darned good transportation value for the money.
