I have a radiator in my bathroom (1940's house) that needs to be painted. I purchased Rustoleum heat resistant spray paint but, the raditor has paint splatter (minor) from my painting the bathroom (roll splatter) and simply needs to be cleaned up a little before painting - - what should I do to prep before painting so that the finish is smooth/even?
Any suggestions would be appreciated. :)

I would think that if you sanded it with steal wool, or even sandpaper. We just repainted the front of our oven with appliance paint. We just lightly sanded the surface, cleaned it and then painted it. When people come over they cannot even tell it is painted.

Thanks. I actually began with a little sandpaper and didn't want to do the whole thing and find out that I messed it up somehow. Thanks for your help!!

I'd see if 220 grit sandpaper would remove the splatters. You can use a coarser grit but you would need to go over it with fine in order to remove the sanding scratches.
There are also some solvents that will remove the splatter but they might also remove any finish currently on the metal.
Don't forget to wipe off any sanding dust.
