I'm fixing to buy either an air compressor with painting attatchment or an airless sprayer. I will be painting with Drylock in my basement and the exterior foundation blocks. Which is the preferred method of painting with a heavy paint like Drylock??
BTW....brush and roller are out of the question due to rotator cuff shoulder injuries.

A cup gun or pressure pot will not spray drylok. A small airless or homeowner type airless won't spray drylok. It takes a good size pump to spray drylok but you can't just spray it - drylok must be worked into the masonary with a brush or a roller! It's ok to spray it on the wall but you have to work it in with a brush/roller for it to be effective.

Thanks for the reply marksr. yes, I know about drylock. This will be my third house that I have used drylock in the basement and on the exterior blocks. However like I said, a rotator cuff injury makes it impossible to brush it this time. I will still roll the second coat to fill the pin holes. So, your saying forget the air compressor with HVLP cup gun and look for a heavy duty contractor grade airless pump??

Yes an HVLP definetely wouldn't spray drylok. I can understand the physical limitations but it is still important to back roll - maybe you can get someone to assist you :thinker:
I doubt you want to buy a pump soley for this purpose - probably $2k+ although you may be able to rent one. I've never tried to spray it with my little Titan 660's. As an employee I have sprayed drylok and block fill with both the Grayco 533 and 733.
