question -- what does the coil dry actually do on the inside air units? The manual states it helps to control "mold" growth BUT doesn't remove any mold that might in the system?
actually my question is
1) how often should this be done on the units?
2) what occurs when this mode is turned on, it appears the heat pump turns on
3) at times the air coming from the air handlers seems "musty" when its not cooling say when its just in fan mode after the AC has cools off the room. then the smell goes away after we turn the temp down a notch and the AC kicks in again?
Is there anything I can do to clean the units?
thanks in advance

I'm curious if by "dry mode" if they mean it is a mode to dehumidfy only and reduce mold growth, or to heat the coil up to evaporate condensation and reduce coil scum.
I'd say if it smells musty you may need a cleaning somewhere. Exactly how to do that, you may need to consult a manual, dealer, or someone else can chime in.
