I installed a pyrolox system last fall to remove iron and mangenese from well water. It worked fine at first. It is a second home so when I shut down the water for the winter I drained all the lines except the 10x54 tank with the pyrolox in it. When I turned the water back on this spring the iron taste was back. Did I ruin the pyrolox media by leaving the water sit in it for 4 months. If not, is there any way to clean it out besides backwashing once a day before biting the bullet and replacing the pyrolox? I've tried adding Clorox to the well twice with limited results.........help..........
