I am trying to determine the best system for my filtration. Drilled well @134ft with a flow rate of 7.6 gal min. Household has 2 bath, 2 adults and 2 teens (so, lots of water use). Iron Bacteria is an issue with a test of 2300 . I plan on shocking the system with liquid bleach method.

Iron is .34 ppm, manganese .33 ppm, tannins .51
Also, bad sulfer smell with both hot and cold water.

Online research indicates that a Fleck air injection system with an iron/sulfer control head should do the trick.

Other avenues of research gave me the pyrolox system. Neighbors are currently going with Kinetico but I think that is a simple softener, not a true filtration system. Am I right?

Any advice on which direction I should go? I am trying to save money (we can do the installation, I am confident) but truly solve our gross water issue. It just stinks and feels slimy all the time. Any input truly appreciated. Thanks.

Kinetico does make a sulfur system and a variety of backwashing filters. The third, clear tank is for hydrogen peroxide during backwash. Other filter systems have no brine draw.

You need a test on sulfur to determine the level in parts per million. Different levels will require different equipment.

Air injection systems either by venturi or pump can do a good job if set up properly. I would avoid greensand filters.
