Picked up a 51in. pioneer SD 5075 projection monitor receiver. A little over halfway down the screen, the red lens goes out of convergence, and at the bottom of the screen there's an arched shadow. Above halfway, everything's clear and sharp. Is there an adjustment? Is it the screen gone bad?

That sounds like a mechanical alignment issue, or maybe something got inside and is partially blocking the red gun.

Is the "red gun" easy to disassemble? I've noticed that when I try to adjust the convergence, there's more up than down. Looks like I can take it apart ( the upper lens) and remove gun from the carriage to inspect it. Your thoughts!

I'm not familiar with that TV, but most can be aligned without taking apart the housing. You said you recently picked up the TV. Mechanical adjustments are sometimes needed after the TV has been moved. Even a little bump can throw them off.

Do not mess with the light guns!!! Your convergence board needs replacement. Very common replacement on projections. It will cost about $300+ for a tech to come to your home and do it.
