My Amana AC outside unit the fan shuts off and I hear a humming. I let it sit for a few hours, turn it on and it will come on but doesn't stay on. I turn it on during the day and sometimes it will stay on for 5 minutes and then it stops and I hear humming sometimes. I can turn it on at night, it will work all night but it will not work during the day. I am confused on why it works at night but not during the day.

I was told by someone that it is the fan motor but the fan turns freely.
