I have Trane XE 1000 central air condition unit,...today morning I heard the noise
daka,,daka,...in air duct,...after that cold air stop coming. I checked Out side unit is working fine. I went to attic
and I hear hmmmmm sound from the blower unit.

I switched only "Fan On" in my thermostat. There is no air blowing out,....still hmmmm sound.

1. What is the problem? How can I find out?
2. I switched off circuit breaker which says for A/C,...but still my fan hmmm sound comes. So I am not comfortable touching any of the parts. Do you recommed switch off total Home circuit breaker?
3. How do I discharge capacitor?
4. How do I check fan is rotating? Just place the hand and spin.

Please let me know.

Can some please help me out,..what do to do?

I called service technician,...there is no appointment available,...weekend it is going to be over 100 C - temp.

Technician came and took the Blower fan unit and roter blades came out of spindle,...he replaced it. I asked him to replace the capcitor too. he did.


Today after noon it started working and it is running smooth. So far we lived in noisy A/C,..but never realised that.

But we suffered in hot Texas weather last 6 days.

This forum helps me to get few of the details and to have better understanding of what it is.
