Hi All,

I must say this forum has been very helpful with my painting projects!

I have a new situation. I started removing wallpaper in my kitchen. I started with the longer wall and found that there are 2 layers of wallpaper. It is extremely hard to take it off. So I have decided not to touch the shorter walls and paint over the paper.

I understand that when painting over the wallpaper I have to use oil based primer. For the other wall (where I am taking paper off) I will use Gardz and then paint. Questions -

1. Would there be some difference in the color of walls as their base coat will be different?

2. Can I just use Gardz for all the walls? Is it ok to use Gardz in place of oil based primer?

thanks a lot.

#1 - no not as long as you have complete coverage although the drying time may be different.

#2 - it's probably ok to use gardz for it all, I've always used oil base primer for both..... but I'm old school, hard to learn an old dog new tricks  :blah:
