hey folks.
i have trane twr024c split system heat pump for my upstairs that i'm having trouble with. it's 8-10 years old.
trouble started this afternoon when my 19 y/o daughter found the digital thermostat (been using for around 4 months) set on "heat" courtesy of my 6 y/o daughter. temp was about 90 degrees. she switched it back to 'cool', but after a while, even though the fan was operating, nothing but warm air blowing out.
i looked outside, found the outside unit fan not working.
i cycled the breakers, called hunter thermostat's tech support, tuned off air handler and breakers for outside unit for a few minutes.... nothing helped.
pulled the top off the outside unit, found if i spun the fan blades with my hand, fan would continue to run. unfortunately, the compressor wont kick on, so coolant line stayed warm.
110 vac at everything i could see to check.
does this sound like something familiar to anyone?
thanks,
eric
