I have a similar problem. I have a kitchen in ceramic tile and a dining room in Pergo and there is a 1/2" height difference between the two. I am also trying to figure out how to transition the height. And once I figure that out, I also need to figure out how to handle the 90 degree turn where the ceramic tile overlays similar to the angles pictured here.I can post pictures of the transition if anyone needs to see them to help. Thank you!

They have transition strips that adapt to your situation, look in Home Depot or Lowes.
For the 90 degree corner- You will need to miter the transitions at 45 degrees each.
