I planted some morning glories, they just keep climbing without producing any flowers! Is there something I need to do or am not doing? Thanks

Have you tried a bloom enhancer? It is a good fertilizer that produces beautiful blooms. Available at the 2 big box hardware stores.

Not enough sunshine? Too much nitrogen that causes plants to focus on green growth rather than blooms?

Thanks. I will try the bloom enhancer. As for sunshine, it gets plenty, from sun up to about 4:00(maybe too much???)

Hi Red,
I used to grow morning glories and found they usually didn't start blooming in my zone 7 garden until July. Then they seed everywhere and the seeds can stay dormant in the soil for years. Generally once you plant them, you will always have them.
I've found that morning glories don't like very rich soil or too much fertilizer. It can cause lots of leafy growth at the expense of flowers. I would say do not fertilize these vines until late in summer.

Are you looking at them before 8 AM? If not, then there is your problem. They only open up in the morning hours.
