I have a Briggs & Stratton engin with a Walbro LMT carbartor that is having a fuel in the oil problem. I am getting lots of fuel in the oil. I changed the oil and got about one and 1/2 gallons of fuel and oil out of the White Riding Lawmower. The float seems to me to be operating OK. I tried blowing in the fuel line and on air would flow with the fuel bowl on and full of fuel. I remove the fuel bowl and allow the float to drop the the air flow through fine. I am getting lots of fuel in the oil. The carbartor is a Walbro 20:50

I have the Briggs and Straton maintance maunal for the Bruggs & Stratton engin I have, but it does not seem to be giving me any information to solve this problem. The float does not have any fluid in it. The float is made of plastic and does not have any way to make adjustments. The Briggs & Stratton engin model number is 31P777 Type 0293E1 Code 040329ZD. The anti-fire solenoid is working, it contracts when key is turned on and extends when the key is turned off. If anyone has any suggestions to help me fix this problem, I would appreciate it. Thank you.

Replace the needle and clean the seat area with a Q-tip soaked with carb cleaner.

I had the same problem with my B & S 18.5 hp (31H777) with a Walbro Carb. I was told yesterday to always replace the needle as well as the Inlet-Seat. This a VERY common problem with Walbro carbs that have a brass seat. The brass is soft and the gas and debris over time can cause the seat to get small scratch that cause the needle not to seat properly...
If possible order the seat and carb off and take it to a Mower repair shop and see if they can remove it and replace it for a small fee. I would call around and see if they have time to do it when you are there...I had it done for $5.00 bucks in Indianapolis. :D
I hope this helps...
