I have a craftsman eager1 push mower and for some reason the throttle cable is stuck on it. I have used wd-40 on it and it still will only stay started for about 5 seconds before it dies. Anyone with suggestions on how I can fix this would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

niceguy4u36, Loosen the fuel cap and crank up the engine. If it runs like it should the fuel cap vent is clogged. And you'll have to get a new cap.

Sounds to me like the carb bowl bolt needs to be cleaned. The tiny hole near the end of the bolt is probably clogged..maybe to the point that you can't even see it.

The throttle cable shouldn't have anything to do with the running problem. If the cable is stuck, and you have a reason for it to work, then replace it. I don't have any use for a throttle cable on a push mower.
