I have a 17.5 HP Electric Start Craftsman Lawn Tractor (917-272680). I replaced the starter which was not working. Now the new starter turns and engages the flywheel, but quickly stops as soon as it engages and I hear a ticking sound coming from the ignition area. Any suggestions for my next move?

Check battery make sure it's fully charged

I am thinking of a clicking sound coming from the starter solenoid, which would indicate low voltage/bad battery.
