On a poulan trimmer, when assembling the connecting rod on the crankshaft, does the high side of the connecting rod face the flywheel or does it face the muffler? On the connecting rod there is a wide side and a smaller side that slides onto the crankshaft.

Please respond.

Thanks.

Don't really know what you mean there Butch1957,But it is Obvious as to which end fits on the piston. Then the rod fits onto the crank in such a way as to where the ring gaps and pins are facing the flywheel. Then with the gasket in place you oil up the cylinder & piston an with the rings linded up with the pins in the ring groves, you carefully slide the cylinder on and bolt down.
