Those are all good names, but it really comes down to your budget. If you want $1-2sqft flooring, don't expect the best of quality.
If you want a decent quality, look at flooring in the $3+ sqft range.
I have Pergo Harvest Chestnut for my floors, and it's been outstanding. I have two dogs, and two young kids, and not a scratch on it yet.
DuPont is another good brand, along with Kronotex.

Thank you so much. I have a cat and I am looking for the kind of quality you suggested.

Here is a dated but still useful comparison of varius brands: http://www.ifloor.com/about-flooring/laminate-brand-wars2.html . I installed 12 mm Westhollow South Pacific Brazilian Cherry and it is working out well. I have 6 cats and have not had any scratches on the floor at all. Dogs can be harder on flooring because they are usually bigger. Cat's claws are usually retracted when walking. :gmorning:
