Last year, we put in new shower upstairs, 36X48", built two
36" walls out from a wall in bathroom, have hardiboard inside top 18" or so on 3 walls of shower. Shower came with the pan and three heavy plastic walls, built to bare studs. Outside shower walls are approx. 36"W to ceiling, next to a door, (high traffic area). Not sure how to finish bare studs on outside of shower.
I would think green board would get broken on end of wall that extends into room. Should I put 1X8" board as perimiter, and stain/clear coat, then hardi board in center back to old wall and try to tile over hardiboard areas?
Any ideas,, never tiled before, good with demolition and main installation, just not a finisher. grin,

Thanks for any tips or suggestions....

I'm not sure I understand :o .. could you supply a pic?

Why would you expect the drywall to get broken?
