I just ordered a Fleck 7000 system (48,000 capacity). I've got some instructions on getting it installed, but i have one question about the drain line. My basement does not have any drains, only a closed sump pump incase water gets under the floor. I had culligan and another local place come out to test my water, give me a quote, etc and they both said they planned to hook the drain line directly into the city sewer PVC. They didn't say how they were going to do it though...
Can i tap right into this with a pvc saddle and a p trap? Can you guys give me some ideas?
THanks!

You have enought to work with there, to plumb it properly with a p-trap and vertical riser with code compliant air-gap.
Stay away from saddel clamps.
Good luck

ok. how low (or high) should i put in the T? and how high should the riser be?
i haven't worked a ton with PVC for sewer drains. Is there anything special i should know? certain type of adhesive for sewer or anything?
Thanks again!

oh yeah, one other question about this.
From what i'm reading, there is an overflow for the brine tank?
should i put a Y where i tee off the sewer and an extra air gap fitting?

nothing special just use regular pvc glue and primer. here in Michigan the stand pipe on the air gap has to be at least 12 inches tall but we usually make them as tall as possible. as far as the salt tank overflow. that is there in case there is an issue with the water softener.it only works by gravity though. so if you hook it up to a drain it has to run down. hooking it up to drain higher than the discharge point will be useless.
