Hey All,

I've been reading the forum for most of the night. I am a newbie in the paint department. I can either pay a pro to use "watered-down" paint for an extra $2500, or buy the better paint, do it myself, and earmark that $2500 for my new irrigation system ... which is much needed here in the South. Anyway, I think from reading the forums I am going to spend the little bit extra and get the Benny Moore paint. My house is only a year old, and has construction grade paint on the walls. I am going to start in my master, which is upstairs, and see how that goes. If good, I will keep going. If not, I will hire a pro. Anyway, can anyone provide some ideas/thoughts/tips for me that I may have missed out on. If I missed a thread, pointing me too it would be appreciated, too! Thanks,

Pierre :mask:

Welcome to the forums Pierre!

I'm not sure I totally understand your question :o

BM like most any other paint manufacture has cheap, good and best lines of paint - so stay away from their cheaper coatings. They can also advise you on what tools [roller, brush, etc] and coatings will be best for you. Quality brush/roller cover will make applying the paint much easier

if you are a newbie, then go to an actual paint store. They should be more then happy to get you set up with some good brushes, rollers, sleeves, drops, tape, ect. And help you select the right type of paint. Not all "contractor" paint is bad. My company makes one that I prefer to high-end product. It is thicker, hides extremely well, does not splatter. The only place I put our best paint was one bathroom because it has microban (a mold/mildewcide) in it. BM Super Spec is not a very bad product for a contractor type paint. Regal is a bit over priced.
