I have an old Homelite XL. It runs, but will fade out when powered up and cutting a limb. You have to keep pumping the trigger to keep it running. I tore it down and put it back together, but still the same. All seems in order. My problem I think are the needle valves on the carb. I don't have the settings, i.e. # of turns from close or open. Can anyone help>

Count the rounds as you turn each one tothe right till it stops.
Record this info. You can now adjust to your hearts desire to try to get it to run better. If it fails, you can return to the way it was set by turning each one to the right until it stops then backing out each one the number of rounds you recorded.
Two jets, low speed & high speed.
One idle speed adjustment
