Nube Please help! I have searched the forum (and the world) and still need some help!

I have a Culligan Soft Minder Twin (on well) and I have several questions:

1. Can anyone identify this timer? I have searched everywhere and can’t seem to find a manual for it. Everything has been working great since we moved in about 4 years ago but the water seemed too soft. I could never get Culligan to really help me without sending someone out for about $100 to make changes that I should have been able to do myself…..hence the manual search.

2. I did learn through lurking through this forum that the brine tank should be cleaned. I finally cleaned it and decided to call Culligan to get the unit setup since it is just my wife and I. $100 dollars later (and a change to rock salt per Culligan) things were going great then the water got very hard. I have noticed that the unit after recharging, makes a hissing sound like the brine tank. The dial is just about at the standby but a little to the left like it is still filling the brine tank. Still the water does not seem to fill up the brine tank and the float never floats….and the water is still hard. If I add water until the float lifts, then the unit recharges and the water is soft again. MY question is what can I do/check to find out why the brine tank is not filling. I did check to verify that there is no bridging going on.

3. Is the float in the brine tank there to control how much water is needed in the brine tank or is it just a safety feature to cut off the water if the valve gets stuck in the open position?

Here is a picture of the Timer!!!
